Cultural community grants program

Randwick City Council is committed to fostering a vibrant community. The Cultural Community Grants Program has been implemented to support creative arts and cultural projects to enrich the lives of our residents and make Randwick a vibrant city to live in.

The program aims to:

  • Support or implement projects, events or activities that encourage local community participation and social cohesion;
  • Support the development of and delivery of creative, artistic and cultural projects that enrich the experience of our communities.

Who can apply?

  • Not for profit, locally based community organisations or groups who are incorporated
  • Individual residents of Randwick City can apply on behalf of a group of residents, and
  • Applicants who can demonstrate their capacity to manage and deliver their project, activity or event over a timeframe not exceeding 12 months.

Applicants can seek grants from Council for the following:

  • In-kind contribution only (waiver of Council fees and charges)
  • Cash contribution only, or
  • A combination of in-kind and cash contribution

Allocation of funding:

There will be two grant assessment and allocation periods each year in March and September.

Closing dates for applications in 2012:

Please note the changes in application lodgement dates for 2012 due to the Local Government Elections being held in September.

Applicants proposing to schedule their activity between April to October 2012 will need to submit their grant applications by Friday 17 February at 5pm.

Applicants proposing to schedule their activity between November 2012 to March 2013 will need to submit their grant applications to the Council by Friday 21 Sepember 2012 at 5pm.

Closing dates for applications in 2013:

Applicants proposing to schedule their project, activity or event between April to September 2013, applications will need to be submitted by Friday 15 February 2013.

The closing date for applications for activities scheduled between October to March is Friday 23 August 2013.
