The community parks program involves volunteers in gardening in designated parks. Residents can adopt their local park and beautify it for the enjoyment of everyone in their immediate neighbourhood.

Randwick City Council provides tools, plants, materials, advice and supervision.

Aims

  • To encourage a sense of community ownership of our parks.
  • To create habitat for local bird species by using indigenous flora.
  • To assist local residents beautify their local park.
  • To provide a gardening experience for those people living in apartments.
  • To demonstrate the use of native plants in horticulture.
